What is Disruptor™ PACV?

Disruptor™ PACV (Powder Activated Carbon VOL) is a revolutionary new filtration technology that harnesses a process called electroadsorption. Electroadsorption creates an electrical field that is activated by water to remove contaminants, even the impossibly small ones which conventional filters such as carbon cannot remove. Using this unique filtration technology Disruptor™ gives not only great tasting but also safe drinking water.

Disruptor™ filters remove everything a standard carbon filter removes including chlorine, taste and odour plus it also effectively removes virus, bacteria, parasites, cysts, trace pharmaceutical and some heavy metals. The premium version of Disruptor™ used by VOL® includes powder activated carbon (PAC), for enhanced chlorine removal, as well as antimicrobial silver to ensure that harmful organic contaminants are not just removed but destroyed.

Disruptor™ filter media was developed in the laboratory in Finland and is manufactured by Ahlstrom in the United States.

Do I need to wash my filter?
No, all filters are not washable. Spent filters should be disposed of responsibly and replaced with recommended filters.

Can I change the filters myself?
All VOL® products are designed with simplicity and user friendliness in mind, for ease of use all filters are very easy to replace. For further information please refer to the instructions.

water filter bottle

Why is my VOL® Water Filter Bottle leaking from the breather valve?
In the unlikely event that this occurs, check to ensure the breather valve is in the correct position by pushing on it from the underside of the lid.

Can I use my VOL® Water Filter Bottle without a filter as a regular drinking water bottle?
Yes, but keep in mind you will not be removing any contaminants.

Why is the flow rate of my Water Filter Bottle slower than a normal water bottle without a filter?
If this is the first time you have used a filtered water bottle you will notice that the flow rate will be slower. This is caused by the time it takes for the water to pass through the filter media. This is standard for all water filter bottles.

water filter jug

Can I put a VOL® Water Filter Jug in the dishwasher?
No, it is not recommended to put the jug or any components in the dishwasher.

How much water can I put in my VOL® Water Filter Jug?
The bottom reservoir of the jug can hold 1.6L. Once the bottom reservoir is full do not fill the top reservoir as this will cause water to leak when pouring.

Why does my VOL® Water Filter Jug filter fall out when I pour?
If the jug filter falls out when pouring this is due to incorrect fitment. To ensure it is correctly fitted, push filter in and twist to lock into place. If you are having trouble doing this fill the jug with water first then repeat.

Why does water come out of the top reservoir of the VOL® Water Filter Jug when I pour?
There are two possibilities, either the water hasn't filtered through into the bottom reservoir yet or the bottom reservoir may be full.

countertop and undersink units

What is Watermark and why does only the twin stage Undersink system have it?
Watermark is an Australian certification body for all plumbing related products. Watermark is only applicable to the Undersink unit as this is plumbed into a pressurised source.

Why do I need a pressure relief valve?
Municipal water supplies are prone to having irregular pressure and a spike in pressure could rupture a seal on the Undersink system resulting in a leak. The pressure relief valve is designed to eliminate this risk.

Do I need to cut a hole in my sink for the VOL® twin stage Undersink unit?
Yes – for the tap. If you do not feel comfortable installing yourself you can ask a plumber to install for you.

Why do I need two filters in the twin stage units if Disruptor™ is so great already?
The carbon pre-filter protects the Disruptor™ PACV filter and extends its life.

I’m worried about BPA. Are all of your products BPA free?
The potential release of Bisphenol A is related to the use of Polycarbonate. All VOL® plastic materials that are in contact with water are food grade, do not contain Polycarbonate and therefore do not release BPA.

Are all VOL® products recyclable?
All of the plastic used in our products are recyclable. Please note filters are not recyclable.

Do VOL® water products remove Fluoride?
